Seminarian Support — The council currently provides stipends to four seminarians training for the priesthood to help with their living expenses. All four seminarians are current or former members of St. Michael the Archangel parish.
Pancake Brunches — The council hosts a Pancake Brunch after the 7:45 and 10:30 AM Masses most months. The brunches help parishioners to get to know other members of the St. Michael's family. Proceeds from the brunches are used to support several crisis pregnancy centers, such as Women’s Hope, Women’s Health Services, Baby Steps, and more. In 2022 the Knights of Columbus purchased a new ultrasound machine for the Women's Hope Clinic in Opelika.
Life Programs — In addition to supporting Women's Hope the council supports other right-to-life programs including the Lee County Life chain silent protest, Novena for Life, and the Silver Rose Program, which promotes devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Intellectual Disabilities Campaign — The Intellectual Disabilities Campaign (also known as the Tootsie Roll drive) raises funds to support programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities. 80% of the funds collected by the Council go to the local Lee County Special Olympics program and 20% support a statewide grant program run by the State KOC.
Community Programs — The council is active in in-kind service to a number of local community organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, the Alabama Sheriff Girls Ranch and the annual Haiti Food-Packing event, and the annual Blue Mass honoring first responders. The Knights respond to other requests for man-hours or financial assistance from the community as they arise.
Faith and Family Programs — The council supports various initiatives throughout the years including providing an honor guard for the semi-annual Eucharistic Processions on the campus of Auburn University, Knights Holy Hours of Adoration, the Marian Icon Prayer Program to name a few. Each month our Knights honor a family at St. Michaels who outwardly exhibit strong ties of love and faith, exemplifying Catholic values and making meaningful contributions to our parish and larger community. We also assist with church picnics, hospitality events, and internal council events to promote family fellowship.
Fund Raising Activities — To support its charitable mission, the council conducts a number of fund-raising activities. In addition to hosting Pancake Breakfasts and conducting the Intellectual Disabilities Campaign described above, fundraising activities include selling Christmas cards, and signs with a religious message, and selling programs and radios at Auburn University football games.
