This international fraternal order was founded on the principles of charity, unity, and fraternity. The Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent? To bring financial aid and assistance to sick, disabled, and needy church members and their families.
Our St. Michael the Archangel Council has a strong core of officers who actively support Prolife organizations, priesthood vocations, persons with intellectual disabilities, our St. Michaels Parish, and the general communities of Auburn and Opelika. The Council welcomes all Catholic men aged 18 and older who believe in the importance of fraternity and investing their time in the Church and helping others. We enjoy what we do, but we mostly have fun working together, joking, and telling stories - as we participate in our worthy activities.
